User-Centered Back-Support Exoskeleton: Design and Prototyping

نویسندگان

چکیده

Exhausting manual labor is still predominant in the industrial context. It typically consists manipulating heavy parts or working nonergonomic conditions. The resulting work-related musculoskeletal disorders are a major problem to tackle. most-affected body section lumbar spine. Recently, exoskeletons have been identified as possible non-invasive solution reduce impact of low-back pain. State-of-the-art prototypes optimized to: follow unconstrained human kinematics, (partially) relieve load on assisted joints, and allow anthropometric adaptation. Yet, this technology has limited adoption. Manufacturing optimization may address following limitations: bulky/heavy designs, complex assembly maintenance, high manufacturing costs, long procedures for adaptation wearing, psychological effects (e.g., cognitive usability). In contribution, aforementioned issues tackled improving previous exoskeleton prototype. particular, kinematic analysis, Finite-Element-Method, topological combined obtain lightweight prototype, testing different materials (Nylon, carbon-fiber reinforced PC/ABS, etc.).We applied both Design Assembly Manufacturability. prototype described paper, ready end-user field tests

VR-Smart Home - Prototyping of a User Centered Design System

In this paper, we propose a prototype of a user centered design system for Smart Homes which lets users: (1) configure different interactive tasks, and (2) express activity specifications and preferences during the design process. The main objective of this paper is how to create and to implement VR Smart Home prototype as a platform to increase user contribution in the earliest phases of desig...

User-Centered Design of Preference Elicitation Interfaces for Decision Support

A crucial aspect for the success of systems that provide decision or negotiation support is a good model of their user’s preferences. Psychology research has shown that people often do not have well-defined preferences. Instead they construct them during the elicitation process. This implies that the interaction between the system and a user can greatly influence the quality of the preference i...
